To be in the same difficult situation that someone else is in.

=  In the same difficult situation as someone else.

=  To be in the same unpleasant situation as other people.

 

같은 배를 탄 처지. 동병상련. 처지가 같다. 너나 나나. 같은 처지. 같은 상황.

 

 

Example

A: Oh my god! I lost my wallet!     어떡해, 지갑잃어버렸나봐!

B: Then we're in the same boat. I lost my passport.     그럼 너나 나나 비슷한 상황이네. 나는 여권 잃어버렸어.

 

A: Haven't you heard it? This professor is well-known as 'love Fs' professor.    몰랐어? 이 교수 F 좋아하는 교수로 유명해.

B: You mean we're doomed?    네 말은 우리 끝났다는 거?

A: Yes, we're. Let's get along with people in the same boat.    어. 같은 처지에 있는 사람들끼리 잘 지내보자.

 

: She's always complaining that she doesn't have enough money, but we're all in the same boat.

    그녀는 항상 수중에 충분한 돈이 없다고 불평했지만 우리 모두가 똑같은 처지였다(똑같이 돈이 없었다).
